Noites no Mirante

On 7 and 8 August, the Serra de Monchique will once again provide the perfect setting for warm summer evenings with the arrival of the 5th edition of the Noites no Mirante festival.

Largo de São Sebastião, in the heart of the town, will become the place to be for two evenings filled with music, entertainment and the very best of regional cuisine.

With completely free admission, the event, organised by the Municipality of Monchique, will feature an eclectic fusion of sounds and styles designed to appeal to audiences of all generations.

The main highlight of the programme will be a performance by D.A.M.A, one of Portugal's most popular bands, promising a concert where everyone can sing along at the top of their lungs.

The energy of classic international rock will also be guaranteed with performances by Keep the Faith (Bon Jovi Tribute) and Pearl Band (Pearl Jam Tribute), bringing the great anthems of the 1980s and 1990s back to life. Completing the festival's stage entertainment line-up will be performances by artist Sheila and M80.

Porto-based band Táxi, one of Portugal's greatest rock and pop-rock icons, famous for songs such as "Chiclete" and "TV Cine", will headline the festival's second day.

In addition to the musical programme, the festival grounds — open from 7:00 pm — will invite visitors to discover the local identity through its flavours. The venue will feature traditional food stalls serving local mountain and regional cuisine.

Alongside the music, Monchique Medronho will be the festival's featured regional icon.

"The perfect plan for your summer isn't at the beach — it's in the mountains!", the organisers declare, inviting Algarve residents and visitors to enjoy the unique and welcoming atmosphere of Monchique's historic centre.
